Seems pointless and narrow minded to promote an offer on a National scale to eager investors when the institution is unable to deal with anyone without a personal visit to their office in Toronto.

ParamaPolly thanks, please keep us posted on any new offers. Many investors are in Toronto, some travel around the province to take advantage of offers. A few fly nationally for deals or have contacts countrywide.

It means money that wasn’t already under your name at that FI. They usually have a start date associated with that too.

Hi all! Sorry (well, maybe not) to those who take offense at being notified of an offer. No offense intended.
"New money" means funds that are transferred from another institution.
Lots of people took advantage of this offer. We realize it is not for everyone due to location. Those who could take advantage got a good deal.

My behaviour hasn't actually changed. I have a category for investments of a year or less. I like the EQ 3 month GICs and the Hubert one years, redeemable every 3 month. I might have used this one but it was unrealistic to get the funds there in time, and I had a full schedule anyway.
