Hi, I am new to this (investing and this forum) so please bear with me and I am sorry if my questions are really basic.

I signed up for Oaken GIC online last evening and have to drop off the check today. The rate jumped from 2.60% to 2.75% today. Email confirmation I received last evening stated that the rate is valid for 5 business days during which I have to transfer the funds.

Should I expect to receive today's rate if I drop off the check in person or?

Thank you!

Star_TO, if you drop off a cheque dated today, yes.

From their email:

"These new rates will be applied automatically for all GICs booked on May 29, 2017 or later."

You should get the new rates, as would someone who booked as early as Monday May 29.

Thank you, everyone. Appreciate it. I guess the common sense would be to call them but if you as existing cx have already received an email advising that everyone who booked on May 29 and later will receive this new rate, than i'll probably get it as well.

I find this really strange. When I do a search for Oaken Financial in the search results, Oaken Financial doesn't show as a result. Has anyone else found this? I can't find the url for Oaken.

FYI, Oaken has always been fair and generous about dates regarding rates.
They always let us know in advance when rates are going down, and no other FI does this.
