Oh my... where do you find these banks.

BTW, Mafiozo Curioso CDN Bank offer 15% for 1 year GIC.
When you come to get principal and interest you will end up with broken leg and free cast courtesy of OHIP.

As well, Habib Canadian Bank is a subsidiary of the Swiss bank Habib Bank AG Zurich and not of the Pakistani bank Habib Bank Limited.

I recommend against using Habib Bank. I tried them in early 2019 with a 2 year 3.25% GIC. There was a lot of trouble. I dealt with them directly, not through a broker. The problems were:
1. Opening an account online turned into banking by mail.
2. The first GIC certificate had a lot of errors. It showed simple interest, when I had asked for compound interest. For maturity it showed it would roll over, when I had asked to be paid out. The certificate was dated 17 days after the date they admitted they had the funds.
3. The T5 for the first years interest was correct, but the T5 for the second year showed the full interest earned over the 2 years.

All the problems were eventually corrected, but it wasn't worth the hassle.
