The following URL address:

That, until today's attempt, listed Canadian GIC rates from 99% of FI's.
The URL now redirects to the Globe and Mail page:
That appears to be a generic Globe and Mail investment information page.
Interesting that the redirected URL retains the address qualifiers, but it seems the GIC comparisons are either behind a "pay wall" or is no longer available from Globe and Mail.
Anyone know it Globe and Mail still lists GIC rates?

The Globe's former savings account comparison chart site now does the same thing. Maybe it's a temporary glitch. Maybe they are upgrading the sites. Maybe they are just gone. Can't find either chart right now.

Looks like the Globe & Mail has removed the comparison tables at
http://www.globeinvestor.com/servlet/Page/document/v5/data/rates
Used to be a life annuity rates table there as well.

Does anyone know how deep the pros can see the gic market on their bloomberg terminals?

This is too bad.I used that website quite often.The only alternative that I know of is CANNEX.Their page lists the FI's in alphabetical order only,so you have to check the whole row of #ers under the length of term to find the highest rate.I think there are way fewer FI listed.

Financial Post still has a GIC comparison chart. In the past it also has disappeared for a while, but it seems to be working now. You can click on the annual GIC period at the top of the page to get the rankings in order of the rates given instead of alphabetical.

I emailed The Globe and Mail regarding the unavailable GIC Rate Chart and below is their reply. I urged them to reinstate the comparative GIC interest rate chart as it has been very helpful to many of their website users. Anyone else wishing to complain in writing about this omission on their website should go to:
