Comtech Credit Union 5 year GIC rates are down to 2.85%, http://www.comtechcu.com. This did not last long. Brimelychen, it looks like we just made it in time to lock in at 3.05%. Oaken is still 3.05%, http://www.oaken.com for others that do not know.

You were right, they did have great service and I got a free gift as well after a couple of days by courier. The highest 5 year GIC's that are not TFSA's are probably by GIC Wealth Management at 3.10% but you need $75,000 to invest, http://www.gicwealth.ca.

Contech's 5 year GIC is now down to 2.75% so I guess they are at their quota or they are waiting to see how many people will deposit money at a much lower 2.75% rate.

There are others paying 2.80% to 3.05% for 5 year money, http://www.cannex.com. Some as much as 3.09% to 3.10% if you shop around through using the internet.
