It is up 50 bp to a range of 4.25-4.5%. Terminal rate is now seen to be as high as 5.1% which is just so much hooey because they don't know what the data is going to tell them. Just as much hooey is their predictions for the amount of decrease in each of 2024 and 2025.

Maybe 'Yes' ... but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Jan 25 is still a Long Way off (42 days). A Lot can happen between now and then.

BoE and ECB hiked as expected, but also seem to expect/adjust pace will slow.
Maybe another hike or 2 in the new year and then adopt a wait and see approach.

Even tho they will say "not hiking enuf is a bigger risk", at the back of their head, they all know they got "blamed" a lot more if severe recession hits and people loses their job left right and center. a CB job is just the spring board to the private sector for 10 times the pay down the road.
