I think this site is very helpful Thank You.
Are these internet banks safe and solvent. I am refering to Achieva, PC, Canadian Tire, and ING which I hear is having trouble and recently lowered saving rate below others. I have moved my money to these places to avoid the excessive charges and consistant lower rates from the big banks. I have already taken devistating blows with what were considered very safe RRSP fund investments (Diverisy my ass) I do not want to go on line one day and find that these sites don't exist. How would you track and recover your money even if they have this CIDC. I realize this may read a little dark but I am sure that Germany, Japan, Iceland to name a few would have thought this to be rediculous a year ago and they are now in very deep trouble to say the least. What are your thoughts

As a long-time customer of Achieva Financial, I have done extensive research of them and their 100% deposit guarantee through the Manitoba Deposit Guarantee Corporation. Achieva has been in operation for over 10 years (same as ING), and is a division of Cambrian Credit Union. I frequently look at their financial statements over the years online posted at http://www.cambrian.mb.ca within their Web page to understand their financial health, which remains very strong. Over the years I have moved all my savings between Achieva, ING and HSBC and feel very safe with these organizations.
