From the Financial Post (NP)

If you thought this year was bad for the loonie, how does 70 cents sound?

Some experts are warning Canadians they'll have to get used to a weaker dollar after a year that saw almost nothing but bad news for the loonie

I think it will be even at 65 cents, or USDCAD at 1.5 at worst. But very likely at 1.4 somewhere in the spring of 2019.

It is very prudent to keep some of our cash in USD.

I don't think it will fall below 70 cents unless the Libs get re-elected and then all bets are off for 2020 and beyond. They can't keep adding to the debt and throttling major domestic and foreign business investment in this country with their environmental and regulatory constraints, and gender and diversity agenda.... the latter of which almost sunk Canada's participation in TPP2 and perhaps even NAFTA2. Our economic risks are tied to some degree to our political agenda. Only time will tell.

You’re right on! Canada is in the down spirals since. Just look at our current account balance. We are down at the bottom.
