Does your financial institution's online interface allow you to open an RSP GIC funded by an RSP Savings account? With Canadian Direct Financial, this is only possible over the phone. Its online interface only allows an RSP GIC to be funded by a non-registered account.

Yes, ING Direct allows me to do this all online without involving a phone call or other human interaction. When the RSP GIC matures, it automatically lands in the RSP savings account as well. Same thing with the TFSA GIC, I can fund it from TFSA savings and when it matures it lands in TFSA savings. No worries about "accidental" withdrawals/deposits.

Coast Capital has the same in regards to the TFSA as described above.
