Eq was working fine for transfers, but today I went in to transfer to tangerine and my links didn't show. I called and they said that they had some software updating to do and it lost some of the customers links!
Just when I thought they were getting it together.
All my EQ linked accounts also didn't show today. And this is not the first time. The same condition happened 2 times before in March and April.
Eq did my transfer but it was painful it took so long. They said it will be days before my links show again.
Same thing here. I wondered what had happened.
It looks like the part of their website that populates the From and To dropdown lists on the Transfer form with one's linked accounts is broken.
The linked external accounts are still there. The linked accounts still show on another page that lists the accounts with their account numbers.

It would be interested to know if only some of the EQ customers are affected or all of their customers.
I do not believe their story, that they "had some software update on the weekend", because I saw exactly the same problem 2 times before, in March and April.
Is't a simple coincidence, that EQ problem occurred immediately after Tangerine new Promotion? Maybe, but all transfers from and to EQ must be initiated only from EQ.
Yes, you can alternatively initiate your EQ transfers over the phone or via online chat, but it takes a very-very long time and really painful experience, good luck with that.

My linked accounts are still listed, but the system won't let me use them in transfers. Shipped the money out via Interac since it was a small amount remaining.

My spouse and I each just transferred some money out, worked as smoothly as always. (At first, accounts didn't show for me (did later for spouse) but I just put cursor in the box and click and they showed up - using old desktop works just fine!) Plus I noticed they deposited $25 for my birthday - we love these guys!

JenE, it's true -and my spouse got the same on her birthday back in May. They also deposited $5 in each of our accounts once for the "inconvenience" caused when there was a hiccup in their transfer process that we didn't even notice.

I also tried today about 10 times during the day and transfer still is not possible for me.
Used Firefox and Chrome.
Only one my EQ account shows up in the From and To fields, no linked accounts present at the "Transfer page".

The Transfer form looks better this morning.
When I click on the From and To lists, my linked external accounts now show up. I was able to do a transfer. 
In the dropdown lists, the linked accounts now include with a partially masked account number. Instead of something like "PCF", the dropdown now shows "PCF (*****234)". Probably done for those clients who have linked more than one account from a single financial institution.

EQ Bank must have updated their web site.
I logged in tonight. Transfers are broken again!
Linked external accounts have disappeared!

This has happened too often. It doesn't happen at the Big Five like this. EQ had better get their act together, fast. If three's one thing that bugs people more than low interest and high fees, it's got to be "no money"!
A good reason to spread your money around, I guess.
Were you able to do your transactions by phone? or push/pull from somewhere else?

Wife and I each just checked, nothing amiss. Never had a single issue with EQ, we both are pleased with EQ.

Problem still there today for me. List of linked external accounts still empty. Interac e-Transfers seem to be still available. I guess I could send myself an e-Transfer if I needed to get some money out.
Looks like EQ Bank did change their web site. Under "Pay & Transfer", there is a new item: Pre-authorized Transfers. It brings up a page that has transit number, institution number, and account number "to set up direct deposits into your bank account or authorize payments from your account to billers."
Looks like EQ Bank now supports direct deposits and pre-authorized debits.

I see EQ now has the automatic "micro deposit" method of linking accounts available. I just added my Tangerine account, so I'll see how it goes in the next few (business) days.

I did the account link around noon yesterday and at 8:30 pm today I found that the micro deposits were at Tangerine. I did the verification and immediately submitted a transfer of $100,000 (the maximum allowed) and a second smaller one to clean out the Tangerine account.
It says to allow 5 business days for the transfer. I'll let you all know.

Looks like banks will be closed Dec 26, 27, Jan 2.
That would bring you to Jan 3. (23, 28, 29, 30, 03).
I hope you weren't hoping for a "new money" offer based on 31st or 1st balance.

Which reminds me: If you're cleaning out a TFSA savings account in 2016 to recontribute the amount elsewhere in 2017 looks like it has to be done by Friday Dec 30 unless your bank's open Dec 31, yes - ? Or are Saturdays (Dec 31) a business day for all banks now? You might have to leave December's interest behind if it's in a savings account, depending on the date (Dec 31/16 or Jan 3/17?) it's credited to your account - ? I've never really paid attention to this stuff, has anybody?
