I tried the process on EQ this time. It is better than my Tangerine experience from last year. No confusion over T2033 form.

To begin with, the process is initiated online. Then I downloaded the pre-filled "Transfer Authorization Form". By this time, I received an email to acknowledging the request is opened. After signing the form, I took a picture of it & uploaded back via the same online interface. The next day, another email informing me the request has been sent. EQ now waiting for the other side to respond. The transfer completed in about 10 b. days with one final email from EQ. I am able to see the balance in the TFSA account.

Hope this helps.

Good to know in case I add to those I already have there.

Do we know:
1. If EQ will provide an offsetting credit, if the sending FI charges a transfer fee ?

2. Does EQ charge an outgoing transfer fee ie. the reverse situation ?

thanks

No, EQ will not reimburse the transfer fee. I think that is because EQ does not charge one. I have asked other banks and those who charge one will usually reimburse one.
