EQ Bank web and mobile apps are currently experiencing intermittent technical issues when performing Bill Payments. The team is working as quickly as possible to restore service.

I noticed this morning they pulled my mortgage twice in 2 days. I called them and found out they are having issues and trying to resolve the issue.

Does anyone else experience the same on this forum?

Funny you should mention that! One pre-authorized biller debited my EQ Bank savings account yesterday and then again today.

I called the biller and they investigated. They called back and said I should only have been debited once and that no-one submitted the debit twice by mistake.

I was going to contact EQ Bank later this afternoon. However, I then received an e-mail notification of a matching credit to my account.

Sounds to me like maybe they had a major breakdown, and they had to restore from a backup, but I'm not a computer guy so I'm just guessing.

Another possibility is that someone at EQ Bank fed yesterday's batch of pre-authorized debits into their system again this morning.

Kind of like what City of Toronto did in March 2017 with a property tax payment (see Global News: Residents face bank charges after City of Toronto property tax double-billing error).
