Dang! I pulled all my cash out because they still don't have joint accounts. Now I'm tempted with 3% for 3 months. "Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in!"
(Reference: The Godfather part III).

Looks like they are going to grab a chunk from Simplii targeted extension ending June 30th.

thanks, Norman.
They might get me back for this one too!
While we're all moaning about low rates, it might be worth remembering that EQ's previous 3 month GIC last winter only paid 2.35%.

First time ever that I've taken funds from an online HISA and purchased a GIC from the same online bank. Took about 15 seconds to make the 3 month purchase.

That's because the promotional rate for their 3-month GIC ended by the time our pulled-in funds were released from the five business day hold.

EQ Bank gave us a "Goodwill Gesture" credit to top up the return to the promotional 3.33% rate.

hywc: I logged onto Simplii for the first time in months. They are offering 2.5% on new money until I believe it was October 30. Is anyone getting a higher rate?

Unfortunately, I am not being targeted by Simplii, not even for the 2.5% offer ... sf-frown my money is already in the EQ "holding" tank.

You could try Motive Savvy Savings at 2.8%. The rate is not guaranteed but has been stable for quite a while.

Looks like the promo ended. I cannot find this offer (3-month GIC: 3%) on EQ site today ... 3 month GIC now 2.33%

I bought my final 3 month GIC early on July 30, as soon as my last deposit cleared. Just in the nick of time apparently. Rate must have changed today (31st).
I had noticed that for the last week or so, the ad for this promo did not appear on the home page but it was still there on the GIC page but not there now.

If anyone has funds in transit or on hold, they can probably still get the promo by phoning. That's the way it worked last time anyway.
