Yep. Got the same email. Our DUCA accounts have remained empty as we consider them as last resort as every $ into that Earn More Promo isn't DIY but by phone only. Our Tangerine offers have remained better (or close enough) and DIY ...

Tangerine isn't always DIY. Transfers >$25k require a call. My recent experience is DUCA is quicker to answer the phone than Tangerine so not a big PITA to get DUCA's promo offer (which isn't a lottery and better then anything Tangerine is offering right now!). Plus, it's only the transfer into the DUCA promo account that requires a phone call - transfer out is DIY, although subject to limitations if memory serves.
Anyway, I'm happy to already have the promo account and be getting a league-leading rate.

Why not gain in extra 0.25%
Tangerine will send it tmrw.. only 25G at a time....but still a win.. I transfer into the account easy pieces.. The same time length of the Tangerine promo..

Can I open a DUCA account if I live outside Ontario?
Currently, only residents of Ontario can apply to be a DUCA Member.

Does anybody remember a previous promo which DUCA shut down early? I did a quick search and did not find mention of it.
Hope the members here have a better memory than I.

A few years ago they stopped further deposits to a promo a couple of days into the promo, but paid the promo interest rate on deposits already in the account untilthe end date.

DUCA CSR just informed me that I'm not eligible to open this, or any other account, as they cater to Ontario residents only. (I'm in BC.)
FWIW, I do have GICs with them through a broker. But it seems that this channel follows different rules.

DUCA allows a maximum of $100k EFT in and $50k out per day. For amounts over these maximums, will pulling or depositing funds from another institution thru EFT work? Would calling in to a DUCA CSR allow greater amounts per day?

I know for a fact that calling in to the CSR does not work. The other little glitch is that the daily limit of $50K is for a 25 hour period, not 24! So if you arrange your first $50K transfer at 3 pm, you can only do another $50K transfer the next day after 4 pm. I have set up a link with Tangerine and have pushed funds to DUCA from Tangerine but cannot recall if I pulled into Tangerine.

I don't know about pulling or pushing from another FI as I have never tried, but I can say DUCA CSR's cannot override the maximums for EFT push withdrawal.
However, you could write a check to withdraw from DUCA to deposit into another FI

I called DUCA. CSR stated their limits to not apply (out or in) when doing an EFT from another FI. Indeed, the CSR confirmed they cannot override the DUCA limits.
An EFT test from another FI appears to be what is needed to confirm.

I tried a 100k deposit from check app-- no go
Tried 100k transfer in-- gave me an error message
I called in, and was told they were having technical issues, and should work after 1pm
That did work, so now waiting for call back, to get the money moved over to the savings account
Not quite smooth as silk
