Just received an e-mail about this new card. It gives the same rewards as the original Rogers Platinum Mastercard (i.e. prior to the latest downgrade announcement) but ups the reward to 2% for Rogers, Fido and Chatr products. Rewards can be applied to those products as well as the shopping channel, Jays Shop items, Blue Jays tickets and Rogers Centre concession foods.
The 4% return on foreign purchases is also back offset by the 2.5% conversion fee (i.e. net reward of 1.5%)
There is no annual fee and they now include insurance products like purchase protection, extended warranty, out of province/country emergency medical, trip cancellation/interruption, and rental car collision/damage.
Requirements - Credit approval PLUS annual personal income $80,000+ or household income $150,000+. It appears that no credit check is required for existing Rogers Platinum card holders if they qualify before May 14. Existing Platinum card holders who qualify get the benefits with the old card on May 15 while they wait for their new card to arrive. Otherwise it looks like May 23 is when new card holders get these benefits.

Shoot. I just received my Fido MasterCard.
But no news from HomeTrust which means they haven't processed it yet.
Going to check out the details of this card and if OK, call Home to see if I can cancel that application. If that happens, will apply for this card.

Ours is in the bin as we received this:
On May 23rd, 2018, there are some changes coming
Earn rate has been has been reduced from 1.75% cash back on all purchases to 1.25%.
Earn rate on foreign currency purchases has been reduced from 4% cash back to 3%.
Now cardholders can earn 2% cash back on Rogers products, including Rogers, Fido, or chatr monthly bills.
This card now has no annual fee.

Don't forget the information you quote is related to the Platinum version of the card (i.e. their existing card). The new World Elite version of the card is as I mentioned above and is described in the link I provided. May 23 marks the reduction in benefits for the Platinum version but also the release of the new card with the better benefits.

This seems like a card to get now for rewards. My current primary card BMO CashBack World Elite Mastercard. I know they reduced the cash back from 1.75% to 1.5% and at the time, the Rogers card had an annual fee. The Rogers card is free, 1.75% on regular purchases, 2% on Rogers services, 4% on foreign currency. It seems like a winner.

Trying to see if the Rogers card would be worth it for me. Let's say I spend 4K/year in foreign currency. I currently have a Infinite Visa that is no fee due to my banking plan, and nets me about 700/year in travel $. 4K gets me 12K in points, which is worth $60. That helps to offset the $100 I pay them in FX, assuming 2.5%, though I understand it's going up to 3.5% soon, if it hasn't already?
For those familiar with the new Rogers card, would you know the answer to the following:
- what would be the effective savings/cost difference on 4K/year?
- how does the difference compare to Home Trust, assuming 4K/year?
- I assume it's easy to set up bill payment to the card from my big-six bank account? I'm concerned about bills getting lost and interest accruing.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm not great at number-crunching and I try to keep my life simple.

At present the Rogers Card is paid with electronic bill payee from your bank account, so you need to set up a reminder for the due date. An email notification is sent by Rogers Bank when the statement is issued, so you can plan your payment accordingly. The online credit card dashboard also indicates the due date of the current statement.
According to their CSR, Rogers is supposed to provide pre authorized debit (PAD) linked to your bank account for automatic payment in July 2018.

Looks like this Rogers World Elite Mastercard can now be applied for online now. For anyone with this car already, redemption of the cash back rewards is only towards Rogers services? I don't have any Rogers service.

The Rogers World Elite MasterCard Rewards Program seems to follow the pattern of the programs for their Fido MasterCard and Rogers Platinum MasterCard:

It is similar to the cashback on their Fido MasterCard and Rogers Platinum MasterCard.
One can redeem towards anything Rogers anytime during the year when one has at least $20 of earned rewards.
For a statement credit each January, one needs to call and request it by December 1.
