OfflineThe notice says Annual Spend will be calculated on the account's open-date year, not counting any spending before August 4, 2026:
Effective as of August 4, 2026, your Annual Spend will be set to zero (0) solely for the purpose of determining which cash back earn rate applies to your Account. Thereafter, your Annual Spend will reset on either: (i) the anniversary date of your Account’s opening (if you have never switched between Cards); or (ii) the anniversary date of your product switch (if you have switched between Cards). Please note that if your Annual Spend exceeds your Annual Cap, you are eligible to request a product switch to a different Card with a higher Annual Cap that better suits your needs. The Rogers Red World Legend Mastercard does not have an Annual Cap.
Annual Spend means the total dollar amount of Eligible Purchases posted to your Account during each Annual Spend Period, less the total dollar amount of Credits applied to your Account during the same Annual Spend Period.
Annual Cap means $61,000.
Annual Spend Period means: (i) if you are a new customer of Rogers Bank, the period commencing on each anniversary date of your Account’s opening and terminating immediately prior to the subsequent anniversary date; or (ii) if you are an existing customer of Rogers Bank who has switched to a Rogers Red Mastercard, the period commencing on each anniversary date of your product switch and terminating immediately prior to the subsequent anniversary date.

The upcoming Annual Cap is $61,000 for the Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard. The reward rate is unaffected for those who don't spend more than $61,000/year with the card.
Thanks. Forgot I was only earning 1.5% cash back as a non-eligible 2.0% Rogers WE customer.
One other main I reason I signed up for it is the Trip Cancellation coverage. I presume that's remaining, correct? Assuming so, then this has no impacts on me.

Rogers Red World Elite does it for most of our Canadian transactions, and that is why we have that card. I don't much care about ex-Canada transactions.... We have a USD card for the US. IOW, the changes have no real impact on us.
For those of us who subscribe to a Rogers service, there will be a huge difference in our points benefits. We can, at present, claim an extra 1/3 of our points to be used against Rogers services payments. In August, our points benefits will be 33% less. That's where all of my cash back points went. They don't even mention this in their "Revised Terms" section. Wonder why? Say goodbye to another good thing. Realistically, we couldn't have expected that to last, could we? May be time to hunt for another card.

Darn!
I just got my Rogers Red Card!
Just to clarify (or not), I just spoke to someone at Rogers Bank and he says that because the 1 and 1/2 redemption bonus for Rogers customers was not mentioned in the changes, it will still be in effect. I believe what he said, but I am still a bit skeptical that this is what will transpire. The only thing we can do is wait and see in August. I told the CSR that maybe they should have indicated there would be no change to the redemption bonuses.

OfflineThe Rogers Bank notice has a detailed section-by-section, paragraph-by-paragraph edit of the legal agreements. Sections or paragraphs that aren't mentioned will remain unchanged.
Section 6 of Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard Rewards Program Terms and Conditions is not mentioned in the notice. So, it will continue to be what it is today:
6. Redeeming Rewards
You may redeem your Rewards towards Eligible Purchases at a regular redemption rate of 1 point per $0.01. You may also redeem Rewards for Eligible Rogers Purchases, in which case your Rewards will have a redemption rate of 1.5 times (or 150%) their redemption value compared to redeeming for a regular Eligible Purchase. As an example, 10,000 points can be redeemed for an Eligible Purchase of $100 or an Eligible Rogers Purchase of $150.
