Since it’s a manual process on their part, I always check after a few days to make sure it’s processed properly. All my utilities companies will email / text me when they rec payment.

That would be great but I don’t think that is an option with the companies that provide our utilities (HydroOne, Algoma Power, Enbridge or our local rural municipality for water/sewer/property tax). I will look into it though.

Enbridge sends out payment notification by email. Check ur account setup. Don’t know about the other 2.

What is the longest processing time being experienced in business days?

For example, is it guaranteed (at least to 99%) that if one pays their municipal bill on Sunday, June 9 through CTFS, it will go through and arrive on Thursday June 13th (on the 4th business day), at the very latest?

2-5biz days is my experience.

I noted an earlier post quoting an email where CTFS stated 2-3 days...but it seems it can be longer in some situations. Perhaps at least 1 week before the due date would be the most prudent.

I think CTFS says it's usually 2 - 3 business days but it may take up to 5 business days, if I remember right. I always set up 7 or 8 business days ahead and never had an issue.

Watch out for holidays and notified shutdown days when counting!

And not all provinces have the same statutory holidays...

I can report the following. Set up payment on a Sunday morning. Payment received Tuesday afternoon. So 1 or 2 business days, depending on whether any processing happened on the Sunday.

It is if you can pay your utility bills through regular online banking, and they're on the CTB bill payee list.

I have been paying my utility and property tax through CT/Triangle for years. The comment of mine you quoted was referring to being notified by payees when payment was received. I found that Enbridge was the only one of my utility or property tax payees that will do that.

BTW, thought the discussion thread is still active and current, the list is over 6 YEARS out of date, so you really need to check on the CDN Tire site or check with CDN TIRE directly if you do not see any name of interest.

EDIT: Turns out the OP is AWOL. Instead, there is a more up-to-date list that IS being maintained, found in the SUMMARY of that thread. THe direct link to the maintained list is:

Does anybody have any idea about account numbers for AVIVA INSURANCE - HOME & AUTO? I tried to add the payee with 13 digit account numbers "220+(policy number without letters)+01" for auto and "220+(policy number without letters)+03" for property, but got the error message of "The account number entered is no longer valid in our system. Please enter a different account number."

smayer97, Thanks for the new link.

I see that Toronto property taxes, hydro and utility (water) are now all on the list.

If anyone succeeds in linking to these 3, please post. It may be a while before I can get to this.

Beware of possible issues if you made a payment from your Canadian Tire (triangle) card on Feb 9, 2026.
I just found out that a payment that I made on that day has not gone through to the payee. The credit card shows the payment made but no money was received by the payee. Contacted Canadian Tire and all they could tell me is that they are aware of least some payments made on that day have not had the money go through to the payee even though the credit card is charged for the payment.
They said to call back in a few days to see if there has been a resolution to the issue. They provided no information as to what may be the issue or if any other dates may have been involved.
I have used this payment method with this payee for several years without issue, but I am quite skeptical now. This was not an issue of not allowing enough processing time etc. This issue is that currently the credit card was charged two weeks ago for a payment that has not arrived at the payee's financial institution and as of this date Canadian Tire can not explain why but does acknowledge the problem with some payments made on Feb 9 when contacted.
