MBNA's Smart Cash Card - WORST CREDIT CARD EXPERIENCE EVER!!! | Credit card reward programs | Discussion forum

Read the 5th line from the bottom of my online statement and you'll understand:

"FRAIS DE DEPASSEMENT SOLD 1,502.17 -- 08/24/2009 08/12/2009 D/15 $35.00"

I'm a student, my credit limit is only set to CAD$1500. I miscalculated their conversion and the US currency dollard from a US$52 transaction made on amazon.com for bike parts and I went from $2.17 over my limit and ended up with a $35 strike. I have used 4 other dfferent credit cards thats have always refused transactions when I reach my usual $2000 limit. They were not accepting the transaction and then charging a $35 extraordinary fee. I find that excessive, local stores are now being charged 5% by credit company when a customer uses a credit card. Every time I use my card, I give 5% of my purchase value to MBNA and now they take a $35 fee and think a miscalculation of $2.17 on my side will justify it and keep me satisfied? MBNA just knows how to lose a future customer who would have annual spendings of over $100 000 on a credit card in about 5 or 6 years. Job well done.
