A few examples of survivorship bias doesn't accurately reflect how common this issue is with Home Trust and that they don't automatically re-issue a new card.

Not sure what you are referring to.
But have you ever noticed that your card and spouses card are identical?

Just wondering if anyone else here has had any experiences with Home Trust Visa with respect to requesting a credit limit increase. I've had this card for several years and earlier on did request an increase from the initial $3K (I think that's what it was) to $10K. That request was accepted without any issues. Over the last 6 months I've called them not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times to request an increase from $10K to $15K. I don't really need this much credit, but we do some international travel and thought it would be nice to have some extra just in case we need it for medical purposes where a hospital may require payment upfront (we do have other cards as well, but no others with no FX charges). They finally told me today that my request was DENIED, but wouldn't give me any reason; the CSR said their back office people don't provide reasons. My credit rating is 850+ so it shouldn't have anything to do with that, unless of course they don't like it because I never carry a balance. Or maybe they just don't want to carry that much credit.

How long ago was the first request increase and the current one? Maybe too soon to request another if it was done within the last 12 months?

It was done a few years ago, so yeah, that might be a consideration. But if that's it you would think they should be able to tell me that. What's the secret???

Agreed, it shouldn't be a secret, but I think the thought of you not carrying a balance may be a red flag for them as well, as I do the same. I recall when I asked them for a credit increase, they approved it (went from $3k to $8k) right before my travel and so if I requested another increase again, I wonder if they'd do the same to me.

I think that may be the case with HT.

I asked for a increase to accomodate a purchase larger than my credit limit, and was denied (there was little activity beforehand, since all my day to day purchases are getting better rewards from other cards). I prepaid the overage so that the large purchase could be completed.

A few weeks later I had to contact them about a different issue, and thought I would ask again for an increase while on the line... it was approved immediately. My credit score and situation hardly changed, I think the main factor was having the large purchase in my history.
