OfflineReceived offer.
but still getting hard time i had last time.
I had to fight tooth and nail to get my promo interest effective the day I deposited the funds.
Plan to look at fine print very carefully to see if I get promo rate from beginning instead of it being delayed earning basically very little for the 1st week.

last time this happened, thought i could just deposit funds and automatically receive the offer.
I contacted my CSR, I think one or two days later to tell him I had deposited funds into my savings account. He said he would set it up so I would get the offer. So I didn't start earning interest on those funds until the day after he set it up.
I am going to wait this time until around two days before the offer ends to e-mail him to begin the offer. Won't have funds to deposit until then. It does say in the e-mail: "If you're interested, let's chat about how this offer fits into your overall plan. Just reply to thie e-mail or book a meeting"

OfflineI had posted about encountering the same issue with unpaid interest in the previous CIBC offer thread. I had to escalate the case to Client Care through my CSR in order to get compensated. I had pointed out to Client Care that these offers are highly misleading because they resemble those from competing banks who just give you the interest from the day they receive the deposit.
Apparently CIBC hasn't learned its lesson and continues with the same shenanigans!

OfflineOfficially, the bank will pay interest from the day "the deposit is approved in the back office", which takes some days, depending if a weekend happens during those days. And yes, one gets the "missing" interest by escalating. Bonus is, that the 90 days count from the approval day and thus I collected the bonus interest for 95 days.

OfflineBeware for repeat applicants for this offer:
If you participated in the prior offer this year, you might be surprised that the amount that qualifies for the current promotion might be reduced.
I asked them to get approval before I deposited my money with them.
Good thing.
They were not able to honour their email promotion which I was sent initially.
No where in the legal notes to this offer, did it say it was subject to a modified offer if you participated in prior offer.
Please be aware of CIBC's trickery.

Can you be more specific about the qualified amount? The offer period is between July 6, 2026 and July 31, 2026. I would assume that any new deposit amount between the offer period is qualified for the promotion. Thanks.

OfflineUnfortunately our pricing department is not approving the higher rate for the entire amount. ....... The reason is, because funds recently left CIBC, and was subject to the higher interest offer recently, it is not being approved this time around. We have been informed that if funds left CIBC in the last 12 months and that fund is returning, then it will not be considered for this offer.
If anyone is getting this offer in full, after participating in last offer, I would appreciate details.Thanks.
Maybe they are just picking on me.

Was your original offer e-mailed to you from CIBC, when you went into your account on line or did you receive a personal offer from you CSR?
I am intending on asking my CSR about the offer this coming Monday.

OfflineMy CSR says I qualify for the 4.7% for funds deposited into e-advantage account.
He said to let him know when I deposit the funds then he will activate the offer. As I said before I did take advantage of their last offer like this a few months ago.
I'm going to CIBC this morning (not the branch where my CSR is), to deposit funds.
When I get home, I'll "notify" CSR that the funds are now deposited. We'll see how it plays out. I'll know for sure around the 3rd of August when interest shows up in account.
I almost didn't bother doing this as too much jumping hoops involved getting anything out of CIBC or RBC. If this doesn't go through for some reason, I'll never again attempt to take advantage of these personalized e-mail offers.
