I've found their alerts always unreliable but lately they have quit altogether. This includes email and sms. And no human to complain to.

After a lengthy wait, I was able to talk to a human. The rep was able to restart sms alerts. Thankfully, I don't rely on cibc emails for due payments.

CIBC failed to apply my PAD(pre authorized debit) to my credit card yesterday.
This processed has worked flawlessly since i got the COSTCO branded CIBC credit card.
The payment was debited from my TD account but CIBC failed to apply it to my credit card (they have no record of the PAD) . I had to make a manual payment to cover the balance owing. CIBC acknowledges their mistake but there is nothing further they can do!
I have since cancelled my PAD.
So where did my payment from TD go?

I will contact TD to get the debit reversed.
MY FEAR is now Credit reporting is going to ding me with a missed payment.

Any one else had this happen!

If the pre-authorized debit against your TD account shows CIBC as the biller, then CIBC has the money.

Mixups can happen. One friend was told by his condo that he was behind in his condo fees. He replied that his monthly condo fees have been paid by pre-authorized debit. His bank statements showed the PAD's. What happened to all that money?

Turns out the condo was crediting his debits to another unit and another unit's payments were being credited to his unit! No-one noticed until someone stopped paying their condo fee.
