If they keep their rates up for a month or so, I just might purchase some GIC's from them when others mature. I have only had a HISA with C.T. It looks like you phone them for a GIC purchase? sf-embarassed

I hope their phone works better than their web site.

All I get before logging in is incomplete web pages, lots of blanks and no information that can be clicked (including no login). I did see just the text 'Guaranteed Investment Certificates and that's all.

Giving up and reverting to a Google search, I found a different URL for login than I have always used, and it did allow me to login and showed my HISA account. Once there, no mention of GICs or anything else but my account, except under Products there were 3 credit cards.

If they can't get web sites working properly, what happens after they get some GIC money, even if its possible to create one? sf-yell

You need to phone them to purchase a GIC.

I called on the "purchase products" option and got right through. I think it's because they want to read you a spiel about a GIC not being redeemable until maturity.

No such option exists on ctfs.com, where I see my HISA, or any other pre sign in site. Nor does any information appear about GICs anywhere, just that name and after click on, nothing. What am I missing. Maybe they have opened a new bank under a different name and absconded with my $ 0.01 funds..... sf-frown

Their GIC Info page says one needs to call:

If I am an existing customer, do I have to fill out another application for a GIC?

No. If you already have a GIC or HISA with us (thank you, by the way) you can set up a new Canadian Tire GIC or HISA right away by calling the Deposit Accounts Banking team at 1-866-…. For Canadian Tire® Credit Cardmembers, sorry, but we’ll need you to fill out a full application. You can do so online, or by calling 1-866-…, between the hours of 8 AM and 6 PM ET Monday to Friday.

It doesn't look like Canadian Tire Bank can provision a GIC online like RBC, Hubert, and EQ Bank can. sf-surprised

The link above is blank in terms of information. Screen shot as proof:

Just checked again. The page is not empty for me, using Microsoft Edge browser under Windows 10. It looks like something is wrong with your browser, dougjp:

Thanks for the clarifications. I'm using the Firefox browser, which works with all other banks. So its a CT coding problem.
