    How long have you banked with them?: Approx. 10 years

    Why do you bank with them?: High interest rate

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: High interest rate. They give you a few dollars a month to go paperless.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Better training. I was closing a real estate deal and needed my down payment. A few weeks prior, I called to ask how I could transfer the funds to my lawyer. I was told they can do a wire. Great. A few days before I needed the money I called to request the wire. They said they don't send wires and its too late to do a transfer. Now I have no choice but to have a certified check overnight couriered from Winnipeg to my lawyer in Toronto at a cost of about $100. Thankfully, the check arrived on time. When my lawyer received they check it was not clear to their accounting department that it is a certified check so they called Achieva. Achieva told them that it was a regular check, which takes several days to clear. This would have caused the deal to fall through. I called Achieva and they said that it is actually a certified check and the person that answered their phone is wrong. Then they had the gall to charge me for the certified check. To their credit, they reversed this $10 charge after I complained. However, they refused to reimburse the courier fees. In short, they are good for high interest, anything else, be warned.

    General comments: Customer service gives bad info that can put your deals at risk.

    General comments: very fair to clients - they even share the mailing costs savings with you. If you go electronic statements you get $1 credit each month. I know of nobody else that fair and equitable!

    General comments: Consistently maintain higher interest rates compared to other financial institutions. Easy to transfer funds electronically. Accurate accounting.

    Why do you bank with them?: I thought they would be better than bofa

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: I’m sure their interest rates are competitive.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Their whole transaction system is messed up and slowwwwww. Then they post things not in order they were done and it racks up fees. It’s so confusing how they keep some things pending and some go through right away. I’m very disappointed in what I have seen so far.

    General comments: I might actually switch back to bofa

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Their Website could use an upgrade. Take a look at EQ Bank if you want an example of best in breed..

    Why do you bank with them?: Security

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: I’ve had such wonderful assistance working with Kim, over the years. She seems to know what I’m saying before I do and I don’t have to come up with the perfectly structured question. One in a million.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: I have struggled with the Canada post issue. It would be great if email features could be adopted.

    General comments: I’ve felt safe with Achieva and can’t think of a single error, on their part over the years.

    General comments: I have found Achieva Financial to be a horrible place to invest and have removed my money. They have been withholding the money of a very ill 87 year old woman for nearly 5 months! She asked in mid October of 2017, in writing, to have HER money transferred back to Edmonton. Their Terms and Conditions clearly state that in their joint accounts, either account holder can transact business without the approval of the other account holder. They are profiting at the expense of this poor lady!

    Why do you bank with them?: Started with high interest savings, started to ladder GICs and moved a small pension

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Self serve, not being "sold" anything and very consistent high interest rates. I also like they pay me $1 per month for electronic statements

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: It was their mobile account access, however this has been improved.

    General comments: From my research, they have been in operation for 20yrs - not a flash in the pan!

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Allow me to open an account for my elderly Mom without a major hassle and understand that my Mom signed all the forms but accept the fact that people of her age are unable to mentally or physically handle day to day things without assistance (or accept P.O.A.). Make life very difficult when all I am trying to do is earn more interest for elderly parent.

    General comments: Impossible to deal with in the above situation....so frustrating. didn't have this issue anywhere else. I am joint on the accts. and have P.O.A. and still no go. Guess keep giving the business to Tangerine where there are no issues.

    Why do you bank with them?: high interest rates, great online access and fast courteous telephone service when I've used it on rare occasion.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Their online interface has constantly been improved to the point where I can't think of one more feature that should be added. It's far better than any of the 5 others I've used. They offer consistently high savings rates and a complete range of products including LIRA and LIF. Unlimited deposit insurance is great. Parent company Cambrian CU is one of Canada's largest credit unions. I've yet to pay a single service fee.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Nothing I can think of other than maybe have their parent company Cambrian CU open a branch here in Ontario.

    General comments: I have no vested interest in writing this glowing report.

    Why do you bank with them?: Mainly for a holding purpose, good rate for banks and no risk.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: Interest rate, return a dollar per month for not requesting paper. Pleasant staff. What's not to like with great interest rates compared to banks and good service for a virtual bank. Quick access to savings account

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: More friendly web site and transfers could be quicker, but it's a trade off for a better rate.

    General comments: We are high risk investors so it's good to have a place to park some money in a safe place with one of the best rates for a bank/credit union with quick access to a savings account.

    What do you like about this bank / credit union?: What brought me to them in the first place was only their interest rates.

    What could be improved about this bank / credit union?: Customer relation, employee training, Web design, general financial operations, etc.

    General comments: Very poor customer relation. They asked me how I'd earned the money sitting on one of my other bank accounts when I wanted to transfer it to a new GIC with them. Their Web site is a total joke when it should be fast, convivial, and efficient since this is the only way for a customer to manage accounts and money transfer when dealing with an online-only-financial institution.
