OfflineDid anybody experience logging in to yahoo email?
Suddenly, in the afternoon yahoo refused to let me in. I do have 2 emails with yahoo and stupid me, recovery emails are each other. abc email is recovery for def email and def is recovery for abc. Not being able to log in into either I am screwed...
At least they are Not my major accounts but are used for various (legal) activities thus are valuable and important.
It looks like other people have same/similar issue and those who found a number and called 'live support' were asked to PAY for account assistance.
Any idea how to get into at least one of my accounts?

Is this a legitimate topic for this forum?
Given that this thread/subject was posted under the forum heading;
'Your Stories', I would say Yes.
The Admin (Peter) seems to allow for a Reasonable amount of

OfflineAnd if you are ever in need for Yahoo support - to unlock your account or whatever be aware:
- All toll free numbers are in USA even though some claim to be Canadian support numbers
- Agent will ask you to provide government issued ID to verify your identity. Now, how can Americans using my drivers license or passport verify it is really me? Yahoo did not ask for ANY ID when I signed up decade or so ago so they have nothing to compare with.
- Most likely yahoo will ask for $$$ for service. I did not get to that stage as I refused to provide ANY kind if ID.
Bottom line is - if your yahoo email get stuck - forget about it as it is unrecoverable and all your emails will become history.

Reminds me of the guy who didn't renew his subscription to Rogers email and lost access to all his/her historical emails.
A friend of mine backsup all his emails. Not sure how he does it.

The best and easiest way to save all your E-mails is to NOT use webmail or POP mail. Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) mail sets up a server on your own chosen machine and mirrors all messages to it.It is then your responsibility to maintain and back up your own server.
Could you please explain how to do that and is that possible to do with Gmail and/or Hotmail?

OfflineI found myself unable to sign in as well with no explanation except a note to login with another device so I logged in from another computer and I was able to login normally with usual warning to add recovery options.
I tried to login again from computer with previous failed login and again was denied and so again I attempted login from successful computer and again no issue. Weird. Never liked the format anyway so rarely used.

If you care for that email go asap and add recovery email (at least) but NOT from yahoo.com nor .ca
