OfflineInterac e-transfer can be reversed. Here is article on that topic: TD Bank customer lost $480 after e-transfer cancelled — despite having autodeposit
It is long article, so here is most important part of it:
E-transfers — even to accounts with autodeposit — can sometimes be cancelled, even up to 24 hours later

OfflineNot true. The Interac e-transfer was cancelled before it was completed. Not reversed.
The victim recipient in the story never received any notification from her bank or indication in her online banking that she received any e-transfer.
The lesson is don't be stupid enough to rely on the sender showing something on the sender's phone that the funds were sent to you.

This made me realize that last time I used cash to pay for something was before COVID.
- Ditto ⬆️
As an example . . .
- About six or seven years ago, in case of an emergency (credit cards not working, power outage, etc.) I starting keeping eighty dollars cash (four $20s) in my wallet. To date, those 'Same' twenty dollar bills remain in my wallet. For emergences (or otherwise), they Still haven't been used !
Right or Wrong ... I've been a 'Credit Card Junkie' for many years now, with No cash transactions to speak of.
Others may differ . . .

OfflineCash is not quite dead yet
I actually met a live person who had to pay cash becuase he didn't qualify for a credit card. It was at the checkout in a grocery store. I also saw a woman once who paid her grocery bill with some weird looking stamps. I later found out she was on welfare and got stamps instead of cash because some welfare recipients were discovered spending cash betting on slow horses.

In spite of people like me (Credit Card Junkies
), 'Cash' is Definitely not dead yet ... especially in Retail transactions.
For those who may be interested, this is some help & advice from the BoC . . .
