OfflineI use voip.ms, first with the Linksys PAP2T and now with a Panasonic IP phone. Both were not easy to set up, but have been quite reliable once properly configured.
I cant provide much Grandstream specific info, but I did notice your device is in their wiki ... hopefully it can help.

OfflineThank you. Years ago had a Linksys PAP2T with a wireless Panasonic home set. I had it all set up, and if our VoIP.ms number was called…it rang and both of our cell phones did too. One answered….the other 2 stop ringing. I got overzealous with the set up in the Grandstream. There is a fix to try tomorrow then to program it. Need to get back to a fresh start. Will explain what I’m up to later. Thanks again.

OfflineOk, what I am up to is, the two of us have 3 phone numbers 2 cell phones and 1 ZTE box that runs on a SIM for our Land Line. All on Public Mobile and they just upped their rates by 20%....but my motive was in place before the increase. And I ask why do we need 3 numbers? My wife has never liked her phone number for the last 25 years and the last 4 digits the same for her Calgary number and for her Vancouver number. And the use of phone is on the decline in Canada for sure....it's mainly texting and use of data. We can get by on the 1 GB of data as we are not dependent on it. I rarely use the phone but wife does....but not a lot.
So plan is:
BUY and nice hand picked 604 number from the NumberBarn. (done)
Start to use up the balance in my voip.ms account as I ported out just after the DDOS attack years ago.
So I will post that:
We no longer have a land line for personal use. (key word is personal)
My wife's phone number is no longer
Mine is the same.
My wife's number will be the old Land Line number.
Will give the new 604 number to banks, CRA, medical etc. Will be on voip.ms and will call forward to both of our cell numbers. So first phone (out of 3) that answers the other 2 stop ringing. The voip account plan, is to spend $3-$4 a month. But a bit more as voip.ms just put up their rates.
All three accounts are Canada wide calling. Cell phones has unlimited. Voip.ms is charged by the minute and is same rate for Canada and USA.
And all will have 911.
Also both cell phones will have the ability for soft phone calling over wifi using the voip.ms app and will give the caller id of the cell phone or of the new 604 number. Just not sure if 911 fits in there. And not sure if the app accepts calls.
The voip will run on the Grandstream voip box and will replace the ZTE box.
And just purchased the Vtech hand set that will be with the voip box and will blue tooth to both cell phones....so when in house.... only one phone needs to be use and can receive calls from any one of the 3 sources at at the same time. Do I trust the bluetooth connection....not yet. Has it failed....yes...after a 1 hour call.
I have the Grandstream box programmed but can only call out and cannot receive calls. I now have voip.ms working on it. They gave me a fix to try and did not work. Will await their next instruction. (they have a screen print of every page of the Grandstream box settings)
Am I going to save a lot of money....no....but Telus land line can be $40 a month. And I expect to spend $18+$18+$4 = $40. And I like the programming challenge.
I like to look at each and every expense that we have and see if I can do better. Just like on the savings side...can I do better if I shift funds from one FI to another.
I am curious to hear Save2Retire@55 about your voip.ms and eSim use. Sounds interesting.
