Wealthsimple targeted offer of 0.5-1% boost to Cash account savings rate | Wealthsimple | Discussion forum

It's being discussed at RFD about WS sending out to some people an offer to boost their savings rate in their Cash account by an extra 0.5-1% if they direct deposit their pension or work pay.

That doesn't sit well with me for 2 reasons. First, it's not great for security reasons to have a lot of money sitting on a cash card. They even have a release in the offer that states "By participating in the Promotion, Client assumes all risk of injury, illness, disease, death, or any other damage which may arise in connection with their participation in the Promotion."
Second, because it's targeted, so only a select population are getting the offer. Reminds me of Simplii and Tangerine.
