GIC interest rates now range from 1.50% for 1 year to 2.10% for 5 years.

Some GIC agents, such as Monarch Wealth in Toronto, last week, had Wealth One Bank 18 mos. at about 1.72% p.a.

Interesting that they don't show 18 month rates; and some of the best rates are only for non-registered.

Could be just Monarch Wealth's web site is not designed to normally show the rate for 18 month GIC's.

Google search found another Ontario deposit broker that has the same 1.76% 18-month GIC rate: Heritage GIC's in Kingston and Ottawa.

Not in their regular GIC rate table. But, in some text in the left side sidebar. There's also a 2% rate for 30 month GIC's in the market today:

Rates effective: October 6, 2021

Promotions: 18 Months at 1.30% for minimum of $5k, 1.50% for minimum of $20K & 1.76% for minimum of $25K.

30 Months at 1.80% for minimum of $5K and 2.00% for minimum of $20K.
