TFSA with EQ?

OfflineEQ rates have gone up. I have one TFSA GIC with them already. Probably will go with their 5yr TFSA GIC @3.85%. Need to wait until Jan 2026 but will get the funds into non-registered HISA within the next few days.
I'm never going to use it but daughter will benefit someday and at least that amount will be out of my mind for 5 years.

OfflineYou may want to leave some room to take advantage of their $100-200 bonus HISA promo. One would have to weigh the flexibility gained against what the long term GIC rates will be next fall.
I prefer to keep TFSA GIC maturities near the end of the year to have the December manouver available if an FI decides they don't want to be competitive any more (I'm looking at you Motive-turned-National Bank).
