I never look at my My Account TFSA info, been using the same scrap of paper since day one to record my ins and outs, very easy, never had any issue.

I would normally use my own records but having transferred TFSA and having received a couple of bribes paid in, I do want to check CRA’s number. But that's a very minor problem compared to all the other issues with CRA.

To the best of my knowledge…..CRA TFSA records only show deposits and withdrawals and NOT transfers.

CRA shows TFSA room at the end of preceding year which is the number I need to know. I am assuming the bribes resulting from transfers had no impact but want to be certain.

I just contribute the maximum allowable each year so easy to track when one has no carry-forward.

In the recent past a couple of banks offered a bonus (say $150) to do the TFSA with them but I didn't see any rewards offered this year.

1% to 2% bribes have been offered by Wealthsimple, TDDI, Questrade and others at regularly intervals over the last 3 years, including this year. On a $200K TFSA it could mean a 4K bonus.

Do you have any other accounts at the same FI? If yes, then check those accounts.

Also, if you don’t, then most FI that offer a promotion usually have a stipulation that you have to wait about 60 days. For example, my Dad opened at TFSA at Tangerine 2 months ago and a few days back was given the promo bonus.

Also, keep in mind that $150 if deposited back into your TFSA, will count towards your contribution limit, so I hope you calculated that to avoid penalty fees.

This isn’t relevant. I know how much “bonus” money was added directly to TFSAs by FIs. I merely want a confirmation that it didn’t count towards contributions and for that I want to see CRA numbers. Its not a big issue. Just a very minor irritation compared to all the other CRA screw-ups.

Apologies, my last post was for COIN, not you; it seems that we posted at the exact same time.

However, even after re-reading COIN's post I misinterpreted what he was saying, so yes, not relevant.

With respect to CRA, it's surprising to me that MyCRA is still not updated for some.

TD Direct Investing never mentioned anything about a bonus to me. Do they offer a bonus to targeted and not all clients?

Yes, it was a targeted campaign a year ago. Not to existing clients, it was to move assets to TDDI, offering 2%. They also had a more recent campaign for the existing clients but the bribe was smaller. Probably targeted as well, we got a letter.
