I did try that at the beginning, too. However, you obviously called them on a phone, so they can force you to do option 2 -- receive phone call confirmation.

Not true.
You are calling from your friends phone, not your phone.
You do not have your own phone.
It is very simple.
I know 6 Tangerine customers including myself, who did that.
