Does Tangerine Bank have an option of transferring money to and from your checking account at another Canadian bank online? Is it possible to set up an automatic recurrent transfer of , say, $5000 to, say, CIBC ?

Yes, Tangerine Bank allows one to transfer funds to and from accounts at another Canadian financial institution. It is done through the system used for direct deposits and pre-authorized debits. So, the transfers aren't instant and can take a few days.

Yes, such transfers can be recurring. There is a Recurring option on the Transfer Funds screen.
