I accepted a new client promo which ended in June. I then withdrew all my funds but have yet to receive a new promo offer.I suspect this has to do with my credit score taking a hit after missing a credit card payment. I misplaced a credit card invoice and forgot all about it. When I found it, it was over 30 days past due. I paid it immediately, however my credit score dropped from 841 to 688 after missing a single credit card payment for the first time in 15 years. My credit score has gradually clawed back up to 733 after making a couple of payments.
Does anyone think this could be the reason why I've been overlooked for new promos?
My credit score is 844 it has nothing to do with that it's the roll of dice from Tangerine. My promo ended July 31. But I still have Duca at 5.25% for now.

My score hasn't moved below 860 for years. My Renewed TNG promo ended Jul 31. No new offer for me since either.

OfflineWe use auto pay for all our CCs. Works fine. in fact sometimes they are a day late in taking the money from our account.
Once a month I move a sum into the bank account which will cover the CC bills received as well as other bills (ballpark figure as I can't be bothered figuring out the details precisely) that are on auto pay plus cash cushion. The CC bills are the only ones I pay close atention to for the amount as they can vary widely and are always the largest component. I time the tranfser for 3 days before CC bills start becoming due which is easy as we mostly just use one card.
That's all I ever have to do to manage bills except for things like CRA or other extraordinary items.. Easy is best for us and I don't mind losing piddly amounts of interest that might be gained from paying one bill at a time. No bills are ever missed or late and I don't have to worry about them.

So, the CC draws when due or some X days before and declares it paid regardless of the actual pull date as long as no NSF?

I was shocked to see my score drop by that much after missing one credit card payment of $150. Do a Google search for "credit score drop after missed payment", and you will see that your score could drop by as much as 180 points after one missed payment. Mine dropped exactly 153 points after my first missed payment in at least 15 years.

We use auto-pay by CC for anything that doesn't fee for doing so, auto-pay by checking for others. Auto-pay for CC's would be a cool next step ...
Whatever CC payment is.. never heard about it..
I certainly wouldn't trust that with my payments on my credit cards. But I will Google it.
Si thanks

No; it only pulls on due date or a day later, never early. There is no late penalty as it was their responsibility, not mine, to get it paid. This CC is with a big bank.

That is brutal. What if you are somewhat incapacitated in the hospital and is late making a CC payment?

OfflineAutomatic payment may help, but you also need a way to ensure that the money is in the account when needed for the payments.
For some of us, this can be accomplished automatically by deposits from employment or pensions, but this may not always be enough. My CC bills vary considerably from month to month and I would not want to keep the higher amount always available in a low or no interest account..
If there is a HISA with unlimited free bill pay and high (5%+) interest, please let me know, and I'll move my business there!
As far as I know, AlternaBank still offers CoverDraft, which allows money for bill payments to be moved by the bank from savings (currently 2.25%) to chequing to prevent overdraft or default. This means you have to leave too much money at a low rate, but it could be the best solution if your health or memory are sketchy. (See previous threads about this if interested.)
