OfflineLooking for advice as I was about to sign-up with Tang, but the following mandatory terms and conditions gave me pause. Way too invasive was my first impression, but would like to know what others think. thanks.

I think it may be pretty standard these days, due to online cc fraud etc.
if it's me, I rather disclose my IP etc than them making me responsible for a online cc fraud when it did happen to me.
Thanks for your input and thanks also for moving my post to the proper thread. 😉
I'll probably proceed after all with Tang, even though the 5mth 4.50% rate for first time clients will like fall shortly, but .25% at least, but then again, so will my TDDI ISA account which is only paying 2.30% as of now. Gotta get the promo boost when you can, right ?

Tangerine's promotional interest offers do not make changes to the total interest paid during the offer period if the BoC makes any rate changes. You'll get your 4.5% for the entire 5 months. Simplii offers function the same way, most other banks will adjust their total promotional interest rate offers when the BoC make a move, up or down.

They are likely feeding Mastercard Ekata's fraud detection and prevention systems. See Mastercard Identity solutions.

OfflineQ. re linking accounts.
Profile created, trying to link my new 4.5% promo acct to my TD account.
Choices are: Manual, [takes up to 5 days it says]
or select Instant and signin to TD using a 3rd party app. PLAID. and select account to be linked.
Anyone know if TD Security would have any issues with this ?
I got into hot water a few years ago when I linked from another FI using their Flinks app. TD Security called me instantly saying in so many words that this was a breach of security protcols. !!
Been trying to reach someone in authority at TD Security for hours, without success.
Any help or comments would be appreciated. thanks

We are always looking for forum members willing to take one for the team.
I would personally go ahead and try it again, what's the worst they are going to do, call you again?
If they were so concerned about it, they would have gotten that team of highly paid lawyers they have to tell Flinks to stop it.

Offlinewell I tried ... to take one for the team ... had TD Fraud rep on the phone, was going to monitor to see if any 'alarms' at his end. however, when I proceeded, instead of getting an option to select TD from a list of FIs. [same as I do to access CRA], I got a box to enter a phone number to login ! Huh ! Not what I expected. So after spending way too much time on this, I have reverted back to the Manual link method, but will lose some days while they send me mini deposits, which I will need to verify, etc etc. before I can transfer some real dollars.

Thanks, JohnnyCash ... that's good to know for sure !
Just waiting for Tang's mini-deposits to appear in my TD acct [to be linked] once I confirm, then I'm good to go. 🙂
and fwiw, just checked and TDDI's GIC rates are already dropping from where they were late last week. Eg. TDBK 2yr down .14%, which is an odd looking drop, No doubt, more of that to come.
