Steinbach CU offering US$ RRSPs | Steinbach Credit Union | Discussion forum

They are only offering this for the variable rate accounts, currently at .2%. They say they are the only CU doing this. With a rate that is almost non-existent, the main purpose would be for people who need to know they are in US dollars or for currency speculation if you are so inclined or perhaps planning to retire someplace warm where US$ is King. The MB Deposit Corp does insure US$ accounts, unlike CDIC.
