With the special rate over, and only 0.3% on offer for their HISA (what a laugh!) my money will be going to other FIs.
I'll come back if they offer something which is not an insult to one's intelligence.

These days I read a lot about deposits leaving the FI when a promo expires and not extended. Yet the big picture - Titanic is sinking and there is not enough lifeboats & too much load on any lifeboat may just sink it eventually as well. I am a bit nervous about the one I am in right now.

If CIBC, who is behind Simplii Financial, had needed all the deposit money that came in as a result of the offer, then they would have extended the offer for everyone.
Not extending the offer and letting the rate fall to 0.30% is just a polite way for them to get rid of those deposits until they have an opportunity to profitably use those deposits again.

It is my understanding that at the end of April 2020 Simplii extended their November 2019 2.80% on HISA balances from May 1, 2020 to August 31, 2020. Now that we are fast approaching the end of August, has anyone heard what Simplii is going to do, if anything, to retain those balances?

I certainly got no such extension. They moved me to 0.3%, so my money went elsewhere.
