Question for those who do RRSP withdrawal:
Looking at form T4RSP - where do you see withholding tax amount? Is it box 30 or box 40?

I assume withdrawal is reported in box 22 (example: $12,000) but where should I expect withholding tax ($2,400) to appear? Box 30 or 40 or somewhere else?

Looking at my T4RSP from last year:

Box 22: RRSP withdrawal amount (before withholding tax)
Box 30: withholding tax

Don't forget to claim Box 30 amount on line 43700 of your return.

Thank you guys!!! Alexandre and Bill! Much appreciated.
I am getting ready for RRSP withdrawal for next year and was just playing with numbers in TurboTax. Entering withholding tax in box 40 does not do anything but entering it in box 30 generates return 🙂

Yes, box 30 is for the usual withholding income tax deducted, box 40 is limited for a special circumstance (according to CRA site it's only for "tax-paid amount paid to certain beneficiaries from a trusteed RRSP. The legal representative needs this amount to determine the amount to report on the deceased RRSP annuitant’s final tax return") so you wouldn't use the latter.
