OfflinePeoples tells me that, because of the legal separation between PB and PT, transfers have to go through the same channels and restrictions as those to and from outside institutions. This includes delays and holds, though in general their phone agents are careful but sensible in waiving holds to purchase in-house product when I have other funds on deposit in the receiving institution (PB or PT) to cover the amounts.
Since Peoples is not a credit union, using a cheque is not an option, as there don't seem to be any ATMs I can deposit into.

+1 So far PT / PB has been very accommodating in waiving holds esp if it's being used to purchase GIC.

OfflineThanks.
I guess you can’t use PB and PT links, nor have I asked if that’s doable. I will have to push from PB to Vancity and then using PT pull back from Vancity.
I guess Oaken HT and HB is the same. “BUT” oddly I only have one HISA at Oaken and “funding” and “maturities” cross back and forth with no hassles. But can I move non registered funds from one to the other?….NO.
Yes, they are good about removing holds. I think it is timed and the hold moves to the GIC. Which makes the Hubert policy non friendly. Will advise what Hubert does to me in a few weeks.
Thanks again.

I'm not sure what you mean by not using PB or PT links, but for me the process of transferring from one to the other is identical to pushing and pulling from other linked institutions, from either end.
I've never had to push through an external institution. I just call the PB/PT call centre (they handle accounts at both) and ask them to send the cash over. And they do. They caution me about holds but as usual are very accommodating.
If you mean using on-line means, I don't know as I don't use them.

I have links to push or pull money while on People’s website. Ie
Peoples from/to Hubert.
BUT I have no links between PT and PB so have to go the long way to move to and fro.
But when Oaken set up the second bank they kinda of pre set up links between HT and HB.
Ah nice to hear they will move over the phone! Thanks
