Fortunately I took PT's 2-year GIC TFSA last week at 5.3%.

Hopefully their staff now have time to catch up the backlogs and be responsive.

I filled out the application for a Peoples Bank GIC yesterday (online) at 5.3%.
When I talked to an agent on the phone to determine a few details about applying for a PB account when I already had PT account, there was no hint of a rate change in the offing.
It will be interesting to see whether they honor 5.3% rate, since the account won't get funded until next week.
