I just got a call from”Roland” at Peoples. He said that a special rate was being offered to some clients and then asked if I would be interested in moving funds from my HIS to a 6 or 9 month GIC. He offered 1.85%. Have any if you received a similar call?

No, but I moved most of my cash out of there several weeks ago. Sounds like a retention offer.
I would suggest you confirm the offer by phoning them on Monday, if you are interested. In the meanwhile, maybe change your password, just in case. It may be legit, but who knows?

Just FYI Roland sounds legit as I have spoken to him many times. He has a very nice voice....

I don't know what their policy is, but I have moved as much as 50k in one transaction without difficulty.
It's possible that I've moved more, but this was the transaction I could easily see at a quick glance.
