Please note that effective Tuesday, May 6th 2025, we will be increasing the interest rate for Oaken long-term GICs as noted below:

Long-term GICs:

2 Year GIC – 3.70% (previously 3.60%)
5 Year GIC – 3.80% (previously 3.65%)

The new GIC rates will be applied automatically for all corresponding GICs booked on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 or later.

It is a reflection of the bond market..as it should be. There is an expectation of higher inflation going forward with all these tariff and market constraints.

Weird, I see their registered GICs are still higher.

Registered GICs (RSP, TFSA, RIF)
Term Rate (%)
1 Year 3.50
18 Months * 3.55
2 Years 3.70
3 Years 3.60
4 Years 3.60
5 Years 3.80

........and after I looked at the registered rates their non-registered went back?!? I saw the lower rates, before that.

Long Term GICs
Term Annual (%) Semi Annual (%) Monthly (%)
1 Year 3.50 3.45 3.40
18 Months 3.55 3.50 3.45
2 Years 3.70 3.65 3.60
3 Years 3.60 3.55 3.50
4 Years 3.60 3.55 3.50
5 Years 3.80 3.75 3.70

.......must be some sort of weird browser cache thing, because when I went in a private browser all rates are lower.

Regardless, I hope this isn't the end of their notifications of rate changes.
