OfflineI guess I am not too attentive.
List of Oaken and associates. They are pondering a new name and asking various questions to leave as is and/or what would we do with a new name.
Name means nothing to me. But same web site, same rates or better, same quality or better CSA's are good for me.
Just wondering if a new or same name will mean 4 CDIC identities under one name? If yes who cares about $150,000 or unlimited CDIC coverage.

Offline.
I have signed In & Out of my Oaken accounts at least three times in the last two weeks ... and once this morning.
So far, I have encountered No such survey ... or any other Oaken surveys.

OfflineI haven't seen this either yet, and I've had recent activity with them (GIC purchase). If they aren't targeting everyone, they may be trying to do a representative sample of some sort. In a previous lifetime I used to pull samples for picky statisticians, who needed a valid distribution on a limited survey capacity, but I would have thought for something simple like this they'd just blast everyone and handle any desired weighting afterwards.

OfflineI also received same email for this survey... where they seem to be poundering about possible name change from Oaken & Home to Fairstone (or in combination of...) not a big deal & hopefully they also plan on keeping Home Trust / Bank separate... as it is now!!
Maybe profile dependant on choice receive such surveys & promotions !?!

The only reason why I did it was, I was going to whine about no RRIF savings accounts. So you didn’t detect that they wanted to know if you would reduce your contributions or leave, whatever the new name is?
Yep did notice that. This is I guess part of the reason they are doing this survey ... note that this was done by their marketing dept... so their intent is probably to get a feel as to response to possible name change (brand name confidence + familarity etx)
Just wanted U to know U weren't only one to receive this... tc

OfflineI also received mine by e-mail. I don't like the fact that some unknown marketing agency is conducting the survey, and there's nothing about the survey on the Oaken website even when logged into my account.
I wish they would do this in a way that doesn't look like an e-mail scam. 🙁

You can always call them to ask to be removed from their marketing emails. Sometimes, websites offer this feature in user settings. Not sure about Oaken, though.

No I want the marketing and other e-mails, not just for surveys that could pay $$ like this one, but because some of them include advance notice of rate changes.
I just want a legit confirmation source on a website I open. Not an unexpected incoming e-mail with no way of confirming. And phone calls are out, often a waste of my time.

OfflineGot another survey today. Same comments as my Post 12 above apply. They will never change.
The area for clicking on a link in the e-mail says (without the blank spaces, so as not to create a link) " https: / / hometrust. ca1. qualtrics .com.
Legit? How can you tell?

OfflineIn regards to surveys, I have come to the conclusion if they don’t clearly state the results are anonymous, I’m not going to do it. And if they did say it’s anonymous and that any form of my feedback is not added to my customer profile I would still feel doubtful.
Our company used to solicit us in the form as an “attitude survey” and on time for sure they could pinpoint the one I filled out. Lost my trust in doing them any more.
Banks send us surveys…….one called my wife back.
A CU sends me one every time I call them. I reply back and ask if it’s anonymous……never an answer.
I get surveys from my Timeshare and I know they get attached to my account. And for sure this survey is a flow chart controlled, so what’s the point. They always wind up smelling good.
While I don’t fully trust Google reviews…….I do them occasionally. Just for others to see.
I guess if you are upset with service or product you can sit down with the manager of the branch. But let’s say you’re rated a 10 and the teller or CSR sees it…..you get good service…….but your legitimate complaints bring your rating down to 4. You get crappy service.
Surveys are a joke. Don’t get suckered into doing one.
And did those Hubert surveys ever do any good?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, and if you use browser addons. You could add an addon to your browser that can execute different queries. For ex. in Chrome, 'Country Flags & IP Whois'. One of the functions it performs is checking the reputation of a website. (WOT Scorecard: Website reputation ratings), green if safe, red if suspicious. It does it through pinging servers connected to its domain name. This same addon could be added under the same name on different browsers, or slightly a different name. Normally, you would hover over the link you want to affect, and right click it, a menu tied to the addon will display the functions. When you click the desired function, it'll execute it for you.

OfflineI received the Tell Us How We’re Doing for a Chance to Win e-mail but my potential winning was different than what was offered to GIC-Fanatic.
"The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. In appreciation for your time, you will be entered into a draw to win one grand prize of $500, or one of three prizes of $100."

OfflineMy experience is long - over 60 years since my first banking - and I don't receive any surveys by E-mail. I don't trust anyone calling with a survey other than anonymous political polls (NEVER the ones that ask "are you voting for so-and-so" because those are partisan and black-mark you). But I often found a call to a financial institution ended with a request to "answer a few questions." These always have a couple of softball questions about how happy I am with the service, followed by attempts to find out what other outfits I do business with.
In recent years, they can more easily find out where I bank from my transfer links. And they really no longer care how I felt about the service I get on the phone line, as they are trying to make it so crappy I'll stop using it!
