Just wondering if the debit card of motive checking or savings account has a visa logo on it to use for spending abroad? Or it's only for atm withdrawals, and if so the limit is fixed at $500 cad?

It does not have a Visa logo on it. It's not a Visa or Mastercard debit card. It's an Interac card with access to The Exchange ATM network in Canada, as well as the Cirrus and Maestro networks for international ATM cash withdrawals (at a cost of $3 USD/transaction according to the Service Fees page). I don't know the limit.

This is from the Motive website:

"Enjoy increased convenience when travelling. Your chip debit card has THE EXCHANGE® Network, Interac®, Cirrus® and Maestro® applications, which means you can withdraw money and perform direct payment purchases around the world."

You can use your card anywhere where Maestro or Cirrus is accepted at an ATM or point of sale.
