Interesting. Just about my only use of certified cheques is in situations where access to the cash was needed immediately. (Such as buying a vehicle or making a same-day deposit.) I never faced a hold on one.

I'm guessing that the anti-counterfit authentications built into the printed draft or CC are at least as good as those on cash or bonds.
