Hi,
I was thinking of opening an account at Meridian to get the 5.75% interest rate but just noticed that Meridian is no longer listed on the HISA Chart page on this site where just as recently as last month, they were still listed there. Is there a reason for this?

Meridian Credit Union used to be on the savings account chart, but was dropped in 2019. The main (and only?) reason was that their base rate was not high enough.
They are still on the GIC comparison chart and the Promotions page.

Though still on the low-side, their present HISA rate (2.50%) might qualify them for the chart again.

Thanks for the replies. Are there any fees associated with the 5.75% promotional savings account or the Chequing Account? Also, will Meridian charge any fees for moving money between Financial Institutions?

Meridian CU doesn't charge extra for its Money Mover service. However, people have found that transfers initiated that way are not timely: Slow Transfers from Meridian.

Thanks for the reply Norman1..much appreciated. Also, with Meridian, is there a cap on the amount of Interac transfers you can do per month? And can you make online Bill Payments with Meridian and if so is there a charge for that?

Thanks Dean. I was planning on calling to inquire about opening up an account but figured I would just ask on here first in hopes to also get some feedback from anyone on here who currently has that 5.75% promotional Savings Account.
