.
Hmmm . . .

Maybe it's time to put Manulife back on the GIC Chart.

Or maybe it's a 'Wait-And-See'

Move down to investments:

4% GIC is good. 5 yr duration is too long for myself.

Has anyone actually tried to purchase a GIC with them?

Do you go through the phone number or the list of advisors that they have?

I was just wondering about why they aren't on the GIC Chart; based on 5yr as primary sort they'd be on top of the heap; and their 1yr rate [3.55] is 5th best. I see they do appear on the HISA chart, so maybe it's coming ?

My interest is simply because I just became a first time client, as they had what appears to be the Best HISA promo at the moment ie. 4.75% for 4 mths.

I would be interested, as well, for the question you asked. The phone number and address closest to me was a residence.

They've recently (in the last couple of years, I think) opened a retail storefront on trendy Fourth Avenue here in Vancouver. They seem to have a lot of gotchas in their t&cs.

According to their GIC FAQ, one can phone in to purchase if one already has a Manulife Bank account and have been onboarded:

How do I purchase a GIC?

If you already have a Manulife Bank account, call us at 1-877-765-2265 and we can take your request over the phone. If you’re new to Manulife Bank, reach out to your advisor (or find a local advisor if you don’t already have one!)

Mutual funds, insurance, and GIC's can be offered from a home office. Some advisors that offer Manulife Bank deposits do just that.
