Disturbing trend. They used to try and lead with rates, however the last few times they drop first compared to competitive banks, and never have the top rates any more. The silly .01% business too.

They must not realize people make future decisions on placement of 'sort of locked in' funds (eg: TFSA savings) based on management trends re: rate direction and stability.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as
sharp as it used to be.

Sure they do. They just don't need to pay for deposits at premium rates.
