A week ago exactly I mailed in my application and deposit from BC. I was contacted via email today by Ideal Savings to let me know they had received my application and would be mailing me back with my paperwork and initial login instructions. So I am guessing total time from start to finish will be about two weeks.

Ok, so I was on the phone today with Ideal Savings twice, to clarify a few things. Because I sent in my application last week, I am guaranteed 2.5% on ALL deposits between now and the end of 2017. For those that apply now, you get 2.3% on the initial deposit and 1.7% thereafter. So it only makes sense if you send all your deposit on the initial. The charge for an AFT is 3 bucks. Not a big deal when you factor in the extra interest. I believe their entire customer service department is just a few people, but you get someone on the line instantly, unlike Tang.
