So, I transferred the funds into HISA via my HSBC chequing account. And the bonus interest was indeed paid today. We knew it but always nice to see it happen after all the confusion.

HSBC. I have the advantage cheqing account and I just ordered cheques for free.
Will use cheques to move money btw HSBC and outside FI

My bad guys, I just remembered it as ‘Hsbc advantage’ account when the correct name should be ‘Hsbc advance’ account’.
I opened one last year when they have the new acct promo. Now open a HISA for 1.75% but no easy to transfer funds out except via Cheques.

You can go to “move money” and “pay bill” and push the money out. Or you can link HSBC from another account and pull.

Don't have any money it this promo but on the previous HSBC promos, the bonus interest were always credited to my account a day or 2 after the regular interest.

You can always push to or pull from any Big 5 after you set up a link. These online banks could not operate if they could not.

I meant only online banks like Tangerine etc can have a push / pull link from Big5.
I think HSBC Canada does not allow external links with big5 as they have real retail branches here. Am I wrong ?

I think you can pull but not push funds from a Big 5 (definitely the case with CIBC and I am assuming for the other 4 as well).

Cannot push (nor pull) from RBC.

I think people mean pull money out from RBC, not pulling into RBC.
