My ING Direct account from 1997 transitioned to Tangerine. Don't expect them to stay almost at the very top of the list for best GIC rates for long.

Tangerine does not update their GIC rates as frequently as some other FIs. This will cause them to fall behind others a week or two after they update their rates, even during times when they want to remain competitive.
